Consistently rated amongst the world's best universities, Imperial College London is a science-based institution with a reputation for excellence in teaching and research. Their commitment to quality and superior service was once again evidenced by their choice of EARS plc as their radio communications provider.
Imperial College was founded in 1907 and currently hosts over 12,000 students. Most of the buildings used by the college are quite old and inefficient for the expansion of the Business school which has grown in both size and reputation in the last few years. In order to pre-empt later spatial issues that the college may face a large refurbishment and new build construction plan has been approved.
EARS plc has provided communication coverage for Imperial College to cover the entirety of their South Kensington Campus and the new construction project which is occurring above and below ground. Regional Account Manager Stephen Smith has advised the college on the migration from their analogue equipment to new digital Motorola Mototrbo handportables and infrastructure. The new digital equipment not only enables the college to have a much larger and clearer communications system, but it is also compatible with their sustainability strategy which requires new technology that limits carbon emissions and waste.
EARS plc has supported Imperial College with more than 100 handportable radios as well as covert audio accessories made to withstand harsh working environments.
